Dan Badea

Dan Badea is born in 1975 in Bucharest, Romania. He graduated the painting faculty from the Fine Arts University 'Luceafarul' in Bucharest 2000. In 2003 he received the prestigious painting award 'Accente & Amprente' in Bucharest. His works has been presented in Romania, Serbia, Belgium and Korea. His works are in private collections Europe and Asia.
When I paint, I try to do an exercise without being blocked by reality. I take this reality not in an idealistic way, but like an impact, a pushing one. I try to develop a personal painting language where the touch of my brush, the energy I use for paint, where all I do is mean to create a special moment.
I do not paint aggressively, not in neoexpressionist style, but I want to create more a poetical atmosphere like in the 'Flower woman' theme, nostalgia, a return to affection.
For me, the expressivity, the vibration, the light are really important. Also, in my painting, the detail has the same importance like the entire; many of my compositions are made by modules and you can find different influences of culture like Dubuffet painting or Basquiat graffiti.
I recuperate fragments of life, simple and not important at the first sight, but too easy let off in the memory recycle bin.
My colors are warm, my art is touching. I try to open myself for the other people like me, people search for sensitivity, for feelings and positive perceptions of life.
